Testimonials

Luke is not your typical Sound Recordist; he's a beacon of positive energy and good vibes on set. Throughout five challenging night shoots, Luke radiated sunshine, keeping the atmosphere upbeat and connecting with everyone. His infectious spirit is truly invaluable.

When I invited Luke to be the Mixer for my second film, Small Things, I discovered another layer of his professionalism. Previously a boom operator on my set, Luke goes above and beyond by considering sound from the script phase, ensuring thorough preparation during shooting. He actively participates in preproduction meetings, demonstrating a commitment to understanding the shooting process.

What sets Luke apart is his ability to suggest improvements without encroaching on my directorial space. He strikes the perfect balance between being proactive and respectful. Luke possesses the full package – precision, social finesse, intelligence, and communication skills smoother than butter. If you're in search of a Sound Recordist who will elevate your project by a hundredfold, look no further than Luke.

Sarah Blok

Director

Luke is a true delight to have on set. His passion for the job shines through in his thoughtful explanations of sound-related ideas and compromises, not only to the Director but to all crew and Heads of Departments affected. Luke isn't hesitant to voice the needs of his department, yet he does so with an understanding of the pressures and requirements of others on set. This ability is a valuable attribute for a Production Sound Mixer. With his warm and bubbly energy, he effortlessly brings smiles to everyone's faces, even when tucked away in a small, dark corner with his sound cart.

I am an actress who had the pleasure of working with Luke Predeth on a feature film over several months. Not only is he incredibly skilled at what he does, but he has the invaluable ability to make actors feel comfortable and safe whilst shooting - including whilst tackling sensitive subject material. There were several scenes on the project involving nudity/scenes of a sexual nature and I could not have been made to feel more safe, respected, and cared for during the process of being micced by him and working with him on multiple scenes. His mix of skill, efficiency, and warmth made my job as an actor easy- having him on set was an absolute joy and I cannot recommend him enough.

Actor

Luke Predeth has been and continues to be an invaluable asset on set. When the going gets tough and when spirits are low, Luke is the one revitalising and galvanising the crew, always asking what’s next, never tiring, and always asking what he can do beyond his job role.

His constant engagement with the director’s vision and attention to the smallest details is second to none. My sympathies to those filmmakers who must continuously worry that members of their crew might be less than totally committed to the cause; this is one concern that can be left at the door when Luke is involved.

Fabian Hellier

Director/DOP/Writer

Luke Predeth is, without doubt, one of the most reliable, friendly, and kind people I’ve worked with onset. He always gives his all, no matter what’s asked of him, and is an invaluable asset to any crew because of it.

Matthew Sterling

Director

Luke Predeth’s valuable contribution on set extends beyond his genuine passion for capturing great sound. His balance of technical and creative know-how means he is a valuable contributor to the overall creative process - offering creative solutions and improvements in sound design and how this fits into the overall make-up of the film. Personable, enthusiastic, and hard-working – Luke is an asset to any film crew.
